We are a new family starting out our adventure. Robert and I were married on October 15th, 2005 and have been enjoying our life ever since. After many travels and animal additions to our lives (we currently have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 5 sugar gliders) we decided to add a wonderful child into the mix. Reese Kadence came into our lives on July 18th, 2009 at 5:32 pm weighing in a 6 lbs 13 oz and stretching in at 20 inches long. We are so glad that you took the chance to visit our little slice of heaven and hope that you enjoy your stay!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Reese Piece!

So, what happens when you put a 6 month old in front of a chocolate cake you may ask......

Yep, you guessed it!

Happy 6 Month Birthday my beautiful baby girl! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Always ready for a Colts Game!

Reese's 6 month Appointment

Reese went in on Tuesday for her 6 month Dr's appointment. She did great! She is now 15.13 lbs and 27.5 inches long. (don't ask where the height is coming from!) She is in the 95% for her height. I made a tough decision while I was there. I decided NOT to get her vaccinated for the flu and H1N1. Not sure how everyone feels about this decision but both Robert and I felt it was the right one. She did, however, receive her 3 booster shots. If you know me, you know that I CAN NOT STAND needles of any kind. I have made the decision to put all fears behind me and do whatever it takes to be strong for my daughter and not pass on my fear of needles.

After listening to the nurses instructions and helping hold her arms to restrain her, I would assume that the nurse had her legs all set. Well, she did....for the first two. As I listened to my daughters screams, I noticed the last one was a little harder. Since I focus on Reese's face and not what they are doing, I had to look up to see my biggest fear realized. Reese had broke her left leg free and basically had the needle sticking out of it and it was flinging around. After I gained my thoughts (and my mind), I tried all I could to calm her down. There was blood everywhere and I thought I was going to lose it. I looked at my mom for support only to find her facing the wall in the same state I was in. There was blood all over her as well as the paper on the exam table.

After she was done, I grabbed her, hugged and kissed her, and reminded her what a big, strong, brave girl she was. I am so proud of her and how she tried to be strong. I know it hurts but hopefully she doesn't remember this (I know she won't LOL) and forgives me one day for protecting her from something that could cause her her a lot more pain than a couple of needle pricks.

Adventures in Babysitting

Ok, so Monday was officially the first day that Reese started "daycare". I guess that she was 6 months old and not 8 weeks is a very, very good thing. We were lucky enough to have my mom taking care of her in house and that was awesome! Reese was able to avoid the cold days and most likely many stuffy noses. All good things must come to an end however and hers did yesterday. I am very excited that Debra, my sister in laws mom is going to be watching her along with her cousin Jayla. I am super excited because Deb is just like my mom when it comes to doing exactly what I would like. That is such a blessing because with as OCD as I am, it is nice to have someone do it "exactly my way"....LOL! She now has quite a extensive feeding schedule and it can be quite hard to follow.

Playoffs Baby!

Yep, it's that time again! The time of year that myself and my family wait anxiously for. It's time for us all to witness our wonderful Indianapolis Colts dominate the playoffs and clear the way for their journey to that Super Bowl Championship that shows how hard they worked this whole season. Can't wait for this Saturday's festivities! LET'S GO BLUE!
